Streaming movies over the Internet to the PS3

Hi

I want to make my video content available to my viewers on the PS3.

So far I have found that I can do this by letting the PS3-user surf to a website that shows the content using the flv-format and a flash player. However I'm not too keen on this solution. Could anyone please give me suggestions on how this can be done better?
