image quality??

i've taking my first steps in Gknot, and i reaaly think it's a great program. The "only" problem is that i don't know how to configure it very well. I've encoded the movie "loser" on 1 cd. used a resolution o 576x242 (i'm not sure about this, but the Aspect ratio was good, -0.1%)and when i watch the movie, it looks a bit blury. I probably need to use some filters, but which ones, and where do i configure them? the guide also says i sould aim for 65% - 75% quality. i got 47% in the compatibility test. can that be the problem? if i lower the resolution i can get more quality but i didn't do that fearing i would lose quality. in filtering options i've used soft bicubic (2nd option).
I have another problem... the subtitles! i want to burn them in the avi but i'm not having any success in doing that! so i'll probably need some help with that too.

I think that the image-quality depends as much on the resolution as on the objective-quality (DRF=41 for you).So you have to take the higher resolution with a DRF between 65-75.You must decrease your resolution cause it's to high for your DRF.:rolleyes:
For the blurry things I used to use smooth filter that take off some blocks on the face for example.:D

quanto ao guia do doom 9 eu já lá estive e aliás foi de lá que saquei os progs, mas esta merda é muito complicada.
já agora de onde és??? eu sou de leiria!
