Hey guys,
Is there any difference between using DGDecode or FFmpegSource to get VOBs into Avisynth?

Use DGDecode, its better. FFmpegSource is mainly designed nowadays to improve AVC decoding.

Hmm, from the DG manual "decodes and frame-serves AVC (H.264), VC1, and MPEG2 video" so it does AVC as well.
You need an NVIDIA based card and if I understand it correctly it offloads work to your card's GPU.
Oh, I thoroughly recommend DG's tools, I depend on them.

The original poster is referring to the MPEG2-only DGDecode.dll. You don't need an Nvidia card for that.

I would also suggest using DGIndex, as you can easily check for the presence of (and disable) soft pulldown, and handle audio demux during the indexing process. FFMS2 works well, but lacks these features.
