Core i3 Intel HD Graphics - DXVA Issues

Hei,

Is anyone esle seeing artifacts/blockiness on H264 when using DXVA on Intel's Core i3 HD Graphics. I'm seeing it when using MPC-HC, ffdshow, etc.

Guessing it's a driver issue.

I have the same issue, except mine is the i5. But the GPU is the same, I think. I have to disable DXVA for video to play properly.

afaik intel has not provided casimir with this hardware yet so we cannot fix it right now.

Not to derail this, but tetsuo55, when do you think the next MPC-HC build will be released? (I'm running 64-bit Windows.)

i worked around this by encoding with --no-deblock

cludgy i know, but not too bad considering i have a lot of very noisy HD stuff.

it seems the DXVA gear isn't deblocking, hence the drifting out of whack, and random edges with trails of crap. encoding without deblocking eliminates this problem at the cost of coding efficiency.

I've spoken to casimir via pm. They have a partnership now with Intel so they are on the case. It's just taking a little while, however hopefully not too long!

How is this coming along? DXVA H264 is still unusable on my intel GMA HD gpu. I can't even install the latest drivers because dell won't publish them. At least the i3 350M seems to be able to play anything.

Grab the latest drivers from Intel here...

I haven't tested recently however as far as i know there is no change in the situation.

Also, wish Intel would introduce a gamma adjustment option! Both NVidia and ATI have it, so why not Intel!?

Already tried that, won't let me install them as they are not certified (win 7 64bit). I'm searching if it is possible to force install them but might end up waiting for dell anyway. But VC1 dxva is also not possible at the moment as the intel driver doesn't provide the ModeVC1_VLD device.

Just before Windows starts booting, hit F8. This will bring up the boot options. There's an option to disable driver signing.

You can then install the driver.

Any dxva coder that has a intel hd graphics card as of now or been able to borrow an i-series laptop from someone? Can someone that have committed to the dxva code in mpc/ffdshow comment on this issue for curious intel hd owners? Where should I look for updates to the dxva code? In mpc-hc [1] (http://mpc-hc.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mpc-hc/trunk/src/filters/transform/MPCVideoDec/) or in ffdshow [1] (http://ffdshow-tryout.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/ffdshow-tryout/trunk/src/codecs/)?

Is there some temporary workaround to run deblocking on the cpu rather than through dxva on intel cards?

Update: I found a workaround. Set the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder to Prefer in External Filters. It will use dxva and doesn't seem to have any rendering issues.

I have a video, which playing with some artifacts with Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder also. Latest intel hd graphics drivers doesn't help.. :(

maybe it has something to do with the way the video was encoded?

I always assumed it's a problem with the video if it was giving problems with the microsoft filter.
