hello i have a 16.9 dvd movie and i wanrt to rip it to svcd...ok i did a movie and usually the black lines are smaller than normal 16.9 but recently it started to encode with bigge black border...whys this..is there a setting so the black border is smaller... let em know?

Is this black border of yours only big on your TV or also on the pc?
If it is on the tv than try to set your DVD-player in pan&scan or 4:3.

Even within 16:9 , there are different screen ratios.
You probably have ripped 1.85:1 movie previously, this has smaller back bars (when viewed on 4x3 TV) than a 2.35:1 movie which is a narrow picture with wider black bars.
I assume the problems you are having are due to the newer rips you mentioned being 2.35:1 movies.
