Want to add a Slideshow

I have a wedding dvd which has a menu, Play, Scene Select, Extras. In the Extras part of the menu, where already are 3 short selectable videos from a 2nd menu, I was thinking of adding a slideshow of quite a lot of still pictures and adding an extra button in that menu to select the slideshow.

I am familiar with editing a bmp menu, adding/deleting buttons, and importing menu back again with Muxman. What I'd like is some suggestions of how to add this slideshow of stills, how and what tools to use (ie, if it can be done, it's just a thought that I had).
