Resizing Questions

Hello Everybody!!!I have encoded 8 movies so far and all of them had excellent quality during the playback.The last two movies however seem to have problems during the resizing.Slight horizontal lines at the edge of objects.I have already tried the resizing filters of this site but didn't see much improvement.Does anybody have any idea?:confused: The movies are encoded with DivX 3.11 using sharp bicubic.I never had a problem before!:confused: Thanks!!!:D

use a deinterlacer and there should be no more horizontal lines ;)

I have already tried that out.The movie quality is excellent when playing in compact mode but goes down when switching to full screen mode.Those lines are too slight to indicate that the movie is interlaced.Thanks a lot however.:D Any more ideas?

i think i'm experiencing the same
it's more like (horizontal) "edges" than actual lines
going through the whole picture every 80 pixels or so
of course u notice them best on (vertical) edges
(e.g. film studio logos, credits)

i use divx 4.01 and tried bilinear & soft cubic resize
with and without smart deinterlace...

pls help - this is ruining the whole rip! :(

read another post about this by hellspawn now and have to say
mine is not a playback problem
those "lines" appear on every PC - fullscreen or not...

tried changing your screen resolution during full screen playback? 640x480

I have already tried that!!!The weird thing is that I hadn't noticed that before and I encode the same way I did before.So what has changed?:confused: It only happens during playback.

Could be a video overlay problem, did you install any new DirectShow Filters or codecs lately?

The only thing new I installed was the X-Vid Codec but after I took notice of those lines.I am really confussed about all that!:confused:
