Is it normal for ffdshow audio decoder to show "stereo pcm (uncompressed) when it is decoding an MP3 VBR file? It shows it like this on my Windows XP machine but on my Windows 7 machine it shows all the variations in bitrate whereas the bit rate field remains blank in my Windows XP machine but both supposedly decode it properly and it plays back fine and both show correct duration in MPC. Also is it better to have all audio output as 32-bit (float) and what is the meaning of "Compatibility options: and when should I check it. (I don't output to anything external from this machine).

If it shows PCM then it is processing the decoded audio from another decoder.

Leave all options as is.
