Hello, I have an Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 hooked up to my Onkyo TX-SR805 w/7.1 speakers. I'm trying to determine the proper MPC-HC/ffdshow configuration to get the output I want.

Currently I have AC3/DTS working properly.
I have MPC-HC set to output audio to DirectSound: S/PDIF Pass-through Device
I have FFDShow set to pass-though AC3, DD+, DTS, TrueHD, DTS HD.
I have output format set to 16 bit, 24 bit, and AC3 (encode only 5.1 ch streams).

This works for stereo sources and AC3/DTS/etc sources, but not for 5.1 FLAC or 5.1 AAC (or the like). If I output over "speakers" rather than "pass-though" I only get 5.1 sound (as windows is outputting a 7.1 signal) and can't use Dolby PLIIx on my receiver to get 7.1 sound. What I would like is to be able to pass through not Dolby/DTS sources as X channel PCM. So 2 channel stereo would be sent as 2 ch PCM to my receiver. 5.1 Channel flac would be sent as 5.1 ch PCM to my receiver.

Is this even possible right now? I looked a bit through the ffdshow development threads but I couldn't determine from there.

Thanks!

I'll ask there for help as I almost have it working. Thanks!
