Fist of all: i post this in the GKnot Forrum as well as in the "Avi+DVDPlayers" Forum as i dont now were the fault lies:

I already encoded 5 or 6 movies (DivX 4.12) with GKnot and everything went fine, i got exactly what i expected, best Quality with every Player.
But then i encoded 2 Movies and after encoding, the Quality seemed to be horrable as i watched them in WMP or ZoomPlayer.
But in ThePlaya, the Quality was as as good as in in the movies i encoded before.

Now something more specific: i headed for 2 CDs, reached about 1300MB of size, and the CompessabilityCheck was fine, the Bit*Pixel/Frame was around 0.29 and there wanst any Probs like 1st or 2nd Pass skipped
or any other problems other People menioned in this forum.

My old Movies still play in perfect Quality, so the Codec cannot be the Problem.

Now my Question: has this problem something to do with the players or with a bad configuration of any kind?

Thanx for any hints,

Duplex

Hint on improving image quality in WMP71: Tools..Options...Performance. Set DV towards "small" to improve image quality (vs performance), check fullscreen mode switch on.

How do you get sound out of "the Playa" ?? It doesn't work with abr or vbr mp3.

thanks for the tip, i'll try if it works....:)

Noiw to your question: I don't get Sound from ThePlaya nether,
thats why i put my question here. otherwise i would sh*t on MWP and watch my movies in the Playa.

But as the Sound skips in The Playa, i have to watch them in WMP or Zoom.....

But i just dont think that increasing QualityOptions in WMP will help as the movies look HORRABLE(except in The Playa, of course):sly:

Any other hints anyone?

Try BSplayer this is the best video player I've used and there isn't such problem. I can't understand that anyone can stand with the playa during more than 2 secondes :p

Are you encoding the audio track using average bitrate? The Playa doesn't support it, so it skips and pauses alot.

Either re-encode using a constant bitrate or watch them with a different player :) Unless your CPU is rather slow you should be ok with any of the others. I recommend BSPlayer, www.bsplayer.com
Hope it helps,
