convert avchd to play on toshiba hd?

i have a toshiba hd player (no blu ray player yet) i just bought a sony hd camcordrer and it saves the files as avchd i can burn to dvd but the file is still avchd which a sony blu ray player can play but not the toshiba...
is there a program that converts avchd to play on the toshiba hd player? thanks
