All H.264 decoders give the same output.

kostik> You are confusing H.264 and x264.

Correct. MPEG-4 pt 10 / AVC / H.264 is a video compression format, of which x264 is an implementation.

All the popular decoders for H.264 (the ones you listed) will deliver very similar, if not identical image quality (601/709 and pc/tv issues aside).

I personally suggest ffmpeg-mt inside ffdshow, for access to the ffdshow video filters. If you don't need this, then try any of the others, maybe Media Player Classic HC's internal DXVA decoder. Actually that doesn't work with MadVR IIRC.

All h.264 decoders are required by the standard to have exactly identical image output. If they don't then either they have a bug or something is wrong in your setup.

Use CoreAVC if you're on a single core CPU, it's among the fastest out there! Otherwise FFDShow's ffmpeg-mt will actually perform better on your multi-core PC/laptop.
