I have successfully decrypted me first DVD with DVDdecrypter. I saved all the files to my harddrive, and now I'm trying to open them in VOBrator, and I'm getting a microSoft error. I am running XP Home. Can someone help?? It jsut says it has encountered a problem, and needs to close. Any ideas?
Thanks

Someone please help!! I'm stuck. What is another application I can try in place of VOBrator if it won't work?
Thanks

I think I don't quite get your point. Why do you want to open it with VOBrator??? It's just another ripping program like DVDDecrypter.
But if you have a good reason for doing this, maybe you should try SmartRipper or vStrip.

I'm following one of the Guides on doom9 homepage. It says after I rip it with DVDdecrypter, to open VOBRator and use it to figure out what cells you want to omit. I ended up using DVD2AVI, and think I'm OK.
But thanks for helping.
Which ripper do you prefer?

OK. I guess I just didn't read this very particular guide... Time for me to do it :D
About ripper - best in many cases is SmartRipper. If you have problems when ripping some movies, use vStrip.

What are the advantages of SmartRipper to DVDdecrytper? Those are the only two rippers I've heard of people using. Is there another option to VOBRator and DVD2AVI to view VOB ID cells?
Tonight, I'm going to start trying to compress what's left. I have the files down to 5.6Gb. I don't remember what application it recommended, and I can't open the page right now. But what would you recommend?
Thanks

To further screw this up. I'm following that basic guide for DVD to DVD-5. I checked the files in PowerDVD XP 4 before trying to compress, and they won't play. PowerDVD stays paused. I can click pay all I want, and it doesn't do anything. I followed everythign step by step so far.
Any ideas?

Geezz... I can't help you with that one. I havent' been doing any DVD-DVD conversions and don't know what can cause your problem. I can move your thread to DVD/miniDVD encoding forum or IfoEdit forum if you want me to.
take care

Yeah, go ahead and move it, and see if they can help me. I'm afraid that I am going to have to start all over again; go through that guide a little more careful.
Thanks

I also get this error. It would always crash after finishing playing a VOB ID.
To get round this problem just drag the error window out of the way and carry on as normal. VOBRator will work fine and you shouldn't get any more error windows.

I don't even bother with vobrator simply because it won't preview on my win xp pro. I have found using DVD2avi better for snooping through the vobs to find out if I want to discard anything.
Usually the main movie vobs don't have anything in them to discard. I have only ran into one so far that had a bunch of those copyright screens that I wanted to getrid of. So, DVD2avi to the rescue.
When I open the first vob of the main movie with dvd2avi the first thing I want to see on the right is the statistic window. I then use my trusty mouse to click forward watching both the picture and the VOB/Cell in the statistic window.
I discover that vob ID 1 Cell 1-7 contain those warnings. The last warning screen fades and goes to 8 and into the warner studio logo. I open up my trusty Ifo Edit and open the associated ifo for the main movie and select vob extras select what I want and don't want which is cell 1-7. Ifo edit takes care of it.
You can do without Vobrator and I think you will find DVD2avi does a better job then what Vobrator can do. It is much faster and DVD2avi has never crashed yet.
Goodluck and don't give up!
