View Full Version : Looking for video player that: read metadata mp4 video files + smartlist

Hello everyone!

Some time ago I'm looking for a video player with 5 fulfilling minimum requirements. However, I have not found any program that complies.

The requirements for the video player would be these:

1- Media library
2- Compatible with MP4 video metadata
3- Be capable of showing the previews (tumbnails) of the videos in playlists. I have the cover art embedded in the mp4 file, so the player must read the file's metadata.
4- To be able to make smart lists
5- To be able to regulate the fast forward speed of the video and you can use the arrow keys to address (right / left keys). Or, to make rapid progress steps of 1 in 1 seconds. For this reason the itunes does not help.

I have a collection of several thousand files with ALL tags mp4/h.264/aac edited and I wish I could create smart lists to have my video library well organized as I download new videos each week.

Looking for something impossible?

Hi! Now, I use kmplayer but it does not comply with the requirements:

2- Compatible with MP4 video metadata
4- To be able to make smart lists

Also, not read the cover art embedded in the mp4 file.

Any player?? :)

PS: WMP12 also not comply with the requirement 5.
