I have read the thread "Avisynth message on video after encoding".
But my problem is different. After DVD2SVCD runs through the process, but when I play the video, I get the message on the screen "AVISYNTH: caught an access violation at 0x1195b8c4 attempting to write to 0x119a0000".

Any ideas?

Heard DVD2SVCD is good program, but...

ehrr... this is your first post. So, why the hell you are posting in the advanced forum? Read the Q&A thread, the faq, and wathever.

...and if you ever want a reply I would suggest you never use an exclamation mark, much less three of them. This positively identifies you as a newbie who is rude by ignorance (meaning you just didn't know better) ... so people will not be as helpful to you.

I believe this is the AviSynth equivalent of a general protection fault - a filter or plugin (or AviSynth itself) is trying to write to a memory location it doesn't have access to.

In my experience, this happens most often when there is something strange in the AviSynth script, but that doesn't sound like the case here (you're just working with the script DVD2SVCD created, right? You didn't put in any modifications?).

I think the first thing I'd try is completely removing AviSynth and any plugins. Then I'd re-install the entire DVD2SVCD package - download it again just to be sure the existing download isn't a source of corruption.

it may be that the dvd you encoded is pal or ntsc when you thought it was vice versa.
ive only had that error once and it was due to the dvd being labelled incorrectly (yes i know - dodgey dvd...).
so check to see if the dvd is indeed what it is labelled and dont check convert ntcs to pal if this is applicable.
try that.
could be something else of course...

"After DVD2SVCD runs through the process,.."

What process? Which, all?

"...but when I play the video, I get the message on the screen "AVISYNTH: caught an access violation at 0x1195b8c4 attempting to write to 0x119a0000". "

playing the mpg or the avs? The above statements are confusing.

Thank you for those who is trying to help.
Yes, I just ran DVD2SVCD without modifying the script.
I'll try to redownload/reinstall the whole software.
I'll try to check the PAL/NTSC mode carefully.
Thank you Kedirekin and xrv1138.

More detail...
The whole process finished, I mean whole, all, everything...
I played mpg file generated or burn the bin/cue file. Same result.
I'm not an idiot. And I'm not a newbie...

DDogg,

I didn't see you become so picky over other posting message. I thought we all have some common sense. Or you just don't play fair.
I thought we come here to try to help each other instead of fighting.
Definitely not attacking personality. "...you as a newbie who is rude by ignorance (meaning you just didn't know better)" I can't believe you posted this kind of message as a Super Moderator. Hope a good forum won't be messed up...

"This positively identifies you as a newbie who is rude by ignorance (meaning you just didn't know better)"

Actually I did not mean this in a mean spirited way. When I said the "rude by ignorance thing", I just meant I know you were not being rude on purpose. Sorry I did a poor job of expressing my meaning.

I should have just said to use CAPs, or to some degree, multiple exclamation marks, are the same as SHOUTING. It is a pet peeve of many of us. I should have also said that by using them you prejudice people towards you in a negative way (which I would assume you do not wish to do).

When you read 100's of messages a day and see people doing the same things over and over again ....sometimes you get a little crazy about it :)

@uoxon

have a look at this question quoted from question and answer thread:

Q20: Wah! It doesn't work. Leap through 10,000 miles, read my mind, take over my body and fix it for me because I can't be bothered to read the basic trouble shooting skills guide and the Q&A.
A: Spend a few minutes thinking before asking questions on the board and title your post wisely. If you use exclamation marks or CAPS we will delete your post.
Try basic things like opening the project (d2v) file in DVD2AVI v 1.76 and see if it will preview by pressing F5. Play the AVS file in media player and see if you *see* video (don't worry if it is slow or jerky) or get a red error line in the top of the screen. If media player doesn`t work, re download the software bundle, or at least the huffy codec on the website. The bundle has huffy in it and will install it. This should fix your problem.
