My desktop computer is working pretty slow due to heavy use. Just looking for a good open source or at least free burning software. Since I had first CD burner, I have been using Nero for my burning need. Now I want something that is lightweight and doesn't take up as much power to use.

Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Since the improved "Disc Layout Editor" was added, there really is no need to use anything other than ImgBurn for burning :)

Nero is *awful* bloatware IMO; eradicate it!

+2 Made for oldshool users who can appreciate the potential of a tool, not just his looks. ;)

Nope but I don't find it as a con of this amazing app. Nowadays when regular HDD are few hundreds of GB in size and the price of single DVD+-R medium's so low there really is no need to use multisession anymore. Just pick maximum of files that would fit to your blank media at once and burn it.
BTW ImgBurn has added support for burning AudioCD few months ago. :)

ImgBurn is ok, as long as you have an image or don't want multisession.
For data disks I use nero (don't boo me, I simply have it)
For audio it can be nero, feurio (haven't tried, but people keep saying it's the best) or EAC. Only Nero and feurio can command my Yamaha into AMQR, which is a big miss of EAC.

Infrarecorder seems to work fine for me
