Hi,
I was using EVR CP with my decoders feeding it YV12 just fine on XP with .net 3.5. I've just ugraded to W7 and for some reason YV12 can't connect with EVR CP. With VC1 its feeding YUY2 and H.264 its feeding NV12. If I force YV12, MPC-HC defaults to VMR7 Windowed and playback is terrible.
Are YUY2 or NV12 inferior to YV12 or am I worrying about nothing?

You are worrying about nothing :) basically it doesn't matter which yuv format is used, it is forced by video card driver which format is best supported. And it may change between driver releases.

The recommended one for EVR is NV12, especially for ATI users.

Yeah, if you have ATI definitely use NV12. It's the only color space that doesn't have the but ugly chroma upsampling bug. It's a pity the internal filters in MPC cannot use NV12 so I still have to install ffdshow.

Have you tried the internal YV12 resp. YUY2 chroma upsampling shader (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1185866#post1185866)?

The shader does fix it, yes, but unfortunately I get tearing with shaders enabled, so forcing NV12 output in ffdshow is my only option.

And another reason that I have almost forgotten - I can't get HW deinterlacing without NV12.
