Hi, does anyone know to play .srt subtitles with windows media player? I tried looking around but couldn't find any info on it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

To make Windows Media Player play .srt subtitles, you can install DirectVobSub or ffdshow. Both are ok, but ffdshow seems to be faster with starting up, and takes up less resources, and either works fine with any Windows Media Player edition.
Once installed, make sure your .srt file has the exaxt same name with your media file. If done correctly, on DirectVobSub you will see a green arrow in the right lower part of your screen, and with ffdshow, you will see either an audio or video codec icon in the lower right part of your screen.
Another suggestion is to use VLC media player. It works well with .srt subtitles. In VLC you go to File>Open File and in the window that appears you have the choice to use a " subtitle" file along with choosing the video file itself.
