Hi guys. New to the forum.

Whenever I try to open a QuickTime .mov file using MPC HC x64 I get an error that QuickTime isn't supported on x64. I am running Windows 7 x64.

If I click OK the files still loads (as I have an external codec installed). How can I disable this warning? Because of this warning I have reverted to MPC HC x86 but would obviously prefer to use the x64 version, especially when the file plays perfectly fine.

Thanks

Options -> Player -> Formats -> set "QuickTime file" to DirectShow

If your primary reason for using the x64 version is "it's x64 so I assume it is better", then you have assumed wrong. The x86 version is still the preferred one.

Thanks.

Not better but my OS is x64 so it makes sense (in theory at least) to use x64 software too. If people don't use x64 MPC etc... it will never take off properly. I use VirtualDub x86 for instance as there's no LAME x64 (that I can get to work), for instance but I can play all the file types I need in either MPC HC x86 or x64, so why not use x64?

EDIT: Thanks. That worked.

It's your choice. But x86 version has better compatibility.
