MakeMKV v.1.4.9 was released today.

Curiously, although the previous three releases setup programs were each approximately 2,550KB, v.1.4.9 is approximately 1/3 larger at approximately 3,400KB - and yet the History only indicates that this new version:
Faster processing for some DVD discs
Miscellaneous stability improvements - which is their standard boilerplate.

I wonder if there's been some significant unstated further accomplishment regarding BluRays.

Has anyone discovered anything in this regard?

**EDIT** The authors/publishers have just posted a generic BD+ key at the MakeMKV website. Theoretically, this 54 byte key, used in conjunction with MakeMKV, should allow you to rip any and all BD+ BluRays, unless or until the studios come up with something to neutralize it...

Was just looking and don't see any mention of a generic key... is it in the latest posted svq file?

Hi!

Go to:

http://www.makemkv.com/svq/

And click on the link in the phrase:Download the latest combined SVQ file.

For the time being, that's the only SVQ file you'll need...

In my first post to this thread, questioning the increased filesize, I said:I wonder if there's been some significant unstated further accomplishment regarding BluRays.The answer is "Yes" - "MakeMKV" now has Direct Video Streaming capability...

setarip_old: could you elaborate on what "Direct Video Streaming" actually is?

@Inspector.Gadget

Hi!

The author can explain it far better than I. Therefore, I'd suggest you go to the website and read the same information that I read:

Any possibility to release the MKB v12/v14 processing keys? aacskeys just deals with the discs older than MKB v10.

@bob-flash

You'd have to contact "Mike Chen" (the "MakeMKV" author/publisher/spokesman) about that...
