What is a noise filter and when do i use it? Someone please help

it smooths out the image reducing noise on the image...use it on a noisy image :)

Remember too that by smoothing the image it will reduce clarity as well. Only use it if you really need to.

Also remember your movie will likely be more compressible if using the temporal smoothing filter in AVS;)

Ohhh...it also slows the encoding process down quite a bit as well.
