Hi,
Although I think gordian knot is great for encoding video, in my experiance I can't say the same about the audio as it never works for me! It always ends up being very jerky.

I followed the guide, extracting the audio with DVD2AVI when saving a project and using that. Both the AC3 file made by DVD2AVI and the encoded one that azid and lame make are ok. But when virtual dub merges them with the video it's very jerky.

Anyone know what the problem might be? I've been extracting and encoding the audio seperatley using graphedit and virtual dub...
Thanks,
BluDChyLD

This is a limitation of the AVI spec, not your fault. The VBR MP3 multiplexing in Nandub was a crude hack (abeit very useful), and this can cause de-sync. See www.virtualdub.org news page for a better explaination (you may have to scroll down some there).

I've never been able to find fault with the default 128kbps abr mp3 that GKnot produces with azid and lame. But I've found some players can't reproduce 'em. I use WMP71.

Have you tried it?
