Hello,

I was testing win 7 x64 just to see how it works and so on and i ended up using it normally. I did some codec(filter) experiments while i was testing it and now i noticed that i can't change playback speed in MC (or wmp12) in direct show mode. When i dissable quartz.dll in syswow3264 and only WMF is used i can change playback speed. Also bacause of my messed up codecs i need to use ffdshow A + ffdshow V + haali for both AVI and MKV. Before i go for reinstall i would like to try to fix it and avoid reintall :). Do you have some tips what can be dissabled that makes playback speed change unavailible (ie. i had quartz.dll dissabled after experiments?

BTW is there some other way to FF/RW in movies? I know i can use << arrows to change play speed and |<< arrows to jump 30 second back, but i wonder if there is somthing to jump ie. 5 seconds.

quartz.dll contains several DirectShow filters.

You can restore them with this command:
regsvr32 quartz.dll
(run this from an elevated command prompt!)

Don't forget to first put quartz.dll back in the correct location if you had renamed/removed it.

Yes, i have quarts.dll registered again and it is working, haali avi spliters loads and ffdshow too, if i unregister it windows use its default WMF filters and splitter. But i can't force WMF application to use windows original AVI splitter when i have quartz dll registered (i want to use ffdshow with windows internal avi splitter). If i unregister haali avi splitter i can't play AVIs at all. I think that haali splitter cuasing the play speed change impossible in WMC and WMP.

I'm using media control fastforward/backward feature, but it would still be nice if i can get original one to work (it has better UI - it shows arrows in WMC :)) ).
