View Full Version : ATI HD 4350: HQ deinterlacing with XP/Vista possible?

Hi,
my brother just bought a HD 4350 (PCIE) for his old WinXp PC.
Everything works fine except for one thing: While it's possible to use HQ Vector adaptive deinterlacing on my father's HD 4350 since he upgraded from Vista to Win7, my brother can only choose between Weave and Bob deinterlacing.
Why does the HQ deinterlacing of the HD 4350 only work on Windows 7 and not on Windows XP and Windows Vista?
Is there a tweak to force vector adaptive deinterlacing?

Are the drivers identical across both machines? I'd start there.

Could you post some screenies of what you're seeing in yours? Or use some of mine as examples?

Lol, I just wanted to make the screenshots but I discovered that the advanced deinterlacing options are back.
I'm 100 % sure that I could only choose between "Bob" and "Weave" when i started the topic. And it looks like other people have this problem too (http://translate.google.de/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dvbviewer.info%2Fforum%2Findex.php%3Fshowtopic%3D31042&sl=de&tl=en&hl=de&ie=UTF-8)
Anyhow: Problem solved.

I think its possible with 4350 only on SD videos..
There is hack though to enable VA on HD. But 4350 may be too weak.

Yes, you can force it, but the card must be strong enough to support vector adaptive deinterlacing as littleD said already.

Thx for the link!:thanks:
The HD 4350 should be fast enough for SD 720*576@25fps.:)

For my HD 3450 “MotionAdaptive” (VForceDeInt=3) seems to be the best setting, because it’s already overcharged with “VectorAdaptive” deinterlacing
According to this: http://bluesky23.hp.infoseek.co.jp/en/dxvac/vas.html
when setting VForceDeint = 3 you gain MotionAdaptive for HD but loose VectorAdaptive for SD.

Yes indeed, but since Catalyst 9.10 there was no "VectorAdaptive for SD only" anymore, there are just the BobDevice and ProgressiveDevice as default deinterlacing modes and nothing more. Exactly as shown on your screenshot http://bluesky23.hp.infoseek.co.jp/en/dxvac/vas.html
I've already tried "VForceDeint=6" and "HDDeintVector=0", but it doesn't work like I want it, VectorAdaptive for SD only.
Do you know how to force this?

Thats my default settings even with 9.11. Every setting Vforcedeint = x works as showed in link. HD 3450 Agp.
Dunno why you have problem. Maybe clean registry with driver sweeper.
