Is there a good/solid way to calculate the mux overhead in MuxMan 0.16.6 with the pulldown m2v, audio, subs, and a 4480 or DVD-5 size in mind. I tend to deviate from my final mux by + .01 GB from the 4.37 GB output that I would like to see. My usual route is to plug in the info into bitrate calc and then add to 4480 the diff between the actual audio size and the audio size given by bitrate calc and I estimate ~85mb overheads in muxman (which obviously isnt the right way to do it) and add the difference from the overhead that bitrate calc give me to the 4480 size as well. Thanks in advance.

Use the advanced mode. Should be able to get you what you want.

The problem with that is that even after putting in all the right numbers the final mux size undersizes and I'm looking for a accurate method for reaching near the perfect target of 4.37 GB . For example if I put in 2:33:31 for the length, 4480 size, 1kb=1000bits, audio 384, and then I copy the bitrate calculated bitrate and the max bitrate into cce, it ends up being 4.36 GB after the final mux in MuxMan. so the actualy bitrate probably should have been about 3492 or something like that instead of 3580. The problem ends up being the actual values of the mux overhead an maybe the calculated audio size doesn't seem to match either.

Any help please.

I don't understand your problem, you reached 4.36GB with the computed values for bitrates, is that not good enough? Use then CBR and you'll have EXACT values.
I also like to maximise the quality by squeezing the material up to the last bit of the DVD, and I never ever had problems muxing the things together (say less that 0.1% overhead, compared to 5-10% for BluRay).
Maybe you'll have a search on the inet for bit bugetting on DVDs.

I just want to know how to predict MuxMan overhead calculations that are within 1-2 mb of the actual overhead. I know there is a way. Some formula. want to know that formula and how to use the formula. That's all I want to know.

mpucoder can you please help?

The results you got from the bitrate calculator at VideoHelp are as close as one can expect.
There is no formula to precisely predict the multiplex based only on target video bitrates and run times as the multiplex depends on the exact size of each GOP, which can only be determined after encoding.
