hi!
cinema craft encoder sp created two MPEG files. i can watch both of them but the first one seems to be 'damaged'. if i try to jump somewhere with the time slider, Media Player stops playing. PowerDVD 4 XP does not have any problems.

do i have to reencode the movie? is it damaged? the second file is fine...

Media Player is stupid.
If I try to play any of the muxed files in it the audio is way out of sync and I get occasional video screw ups.
In WinDVD it's perfect. Don't use PowerDVD, I like WinDVD better. I don't watch entire videos in it I only use it to test.

i don't have a standalone player yet and windvd does not have some features like scan&pan, etc. but that is not really a problem. i might try windvd when i have enough time.
so the MPEG files should be ok. but the first image file was too small. 21MB. the first muxed MPEG file had about 746 MB. what does that mean. can i try to make an image with VCDXBuilt again? how?

Media Player is very unreliable...I would use PowerDvd 4 xp or you could use Win DVD i prefer power dvd....

What version of dvd2svcd are you using?

Confused because you said "PowerDVD 4 doesn't have any problems".
Are you refering to the VAF file, the MPV file, or the muxed file when you say 21mb?
Is all the video there?

If there is a problem you have not given enough info.
What is the source?
Is it NTSC or PAL?
What Version are you using of DVD2SVCD and CCE?
Post your DVD2SVCD.log file.

If the VAF file is that small thats normal. It's only an info file CCE uses to create the other passes.

Info, we can't help without much more info.

i reencoded the whole movie. the image files have the right size not. i used 'vstrip' this time - not the 'internal routines'. i don't think it will happen again, and if it does i will provide all the information you were talking about.
