Mainconsept Referance Encoding Problems...ac3 to wmv

guys,

i have been trying to re encode .mkv files to wmv-hd. but every time i try to start the encode it errors unable to open audio encoder. it also error the same if i try to re encode 5.1 .ac3 to 5.1 wma.

i am using windows 7 ultimate 64.

any ideas? i am sure this worked ok in the past...

i wouldnt use Mainconcept for it.

1. eac3to to decode AC3 to 6 mono waves.
2. import the 6 mono waves into wmencoder9 and encode it to wma

thanks for answering but i used to do it like that but it takes to much work, and to long to recode.

mainconcept recodes much much faster (overclocked Q9650 57/60fps) on default vc1 pro encode with no noticable quality loss.

if i was going to encode using a microsoft encoder, i would use microsoft expression encoder 3. can import .ac3 and dts directly (with ac3filter installed), but encodes much slower than mainconcept, but faster than windows media encoder...

Thanks for the reply, but i have tried using microsoft wmv stream editor. Trouble is the mainconcept encodes play fine, but when i try to import them into stream editor, it says that the video has not got a valid bitrate...so i cannot mux AV with stream editor....
