What's the right syntax to keep an .avi interlaced ?
Thanks for your inputs in advance

Just don't apply any deinterlacer or bobber. Your question is rather vague. Perhaps you could elaborate a little.

Are you asking about flagging the new video stream inside the AVI as interlaced?

Shouldn't i put an "interlaced=true" somewhere? I see this in many scripts posted here so i wonder.
something like:
AVISource("C:\Myvideo.avi", interlaced=true)
AssumeTFF()
ConverttoYUY2(matrix="Rec601")
For example ?

Where are you getting your guidance on scripting? That looks ridiculous. Are you in fact making a DVD? What's your source?

Then just do not deinterlace it.
Regarding the interlaced=true, it is required only for some filters. If you do not use those filters, then it is not relevant.
If your source needs to be resized, then there is special processing required to properly resize interlaced material.
Finally, when you encode the MPEG2 you need to use interlaced encoding.
We can advise you better if you tell us about your source and give your intended script.
