Hi,

I've tried several methods none really close. The scan lines are really large and basic deinterlacing doesn't help. It looks like there is a shift and/or it's been interlaced twice. It's from a pal dvd source.

video is in the Lagarith codec.

Any help would be great.

thanks,

Post a sample from the DVD VOB. Use DGIndex to set a range and then do Save Project and Demux Video. Then upload the M2V file.

This looks very much like interlaced material resized progressively which is a condition that can not be resolved unless you can find an inverse to the resizer used (you can't).

It's definitely ruined at source. That's not a commercial DVD is it?

It's not a commercial dvd. It's from a client who wants it edited, the footage just bothers me...

Tell the customer not to resize interlaced material as if it is progressive.

You can't fix this.

Get them to send you the actual source file.

hit them with the client bat, and ask them to provide you with the camera tapes because there's no way they can bugger those up like this.
