I am not sure if I post this on the correct subforum

I have recently bought Pinnacle Studio version 12 after my Panasonic camcorder NV GS 250 broke

I bought a Canon VIXIA HV40 HD HDV and cannot use my old Panasonic software,TMPG encoder, GUI for DVD Author, etc. I had excellent results with my previous camera and the software that I used. The Canon did not come with any editing software!!

So, I bought Pinnacle, but have never used Pinnacle Studio.

What decent guides are on the net? I downloaded "A quick start guide to video editing using Pinnacle Studio", but I need a more advanced one, as this one just covers the basics. When I do a search, it seems as if most guides that are available are for sale.

I do not need any advanced guides, as I use my camera as an amateur, but I like a good menu, explanation of the editing processes, transitions, etc

Any help/links please? I could not really find anything on this site

at the risk of getting burned if you want to use something small and lightweight i find nero vision express works very well with high definition and standard definition video sources and has a pretty decent AVC codec for making blueray player compatible video discs.

otherwise i would use something like adobe premier or sony vegas video over pinnacle studio which kinda went downhill after avid acquired them.
