When I played the movie this morning, the frames were advancing 2x faster than they should be, yet the audio was playing normal. This time I did check forced film in dvd2avi and the details of the avi say 23.976 fps. Also, when I choose the automatic shutdown feature, my pc reboots instead of shutting down. Someone tell me what is going on, and by the way, I used divx 4.11 codec. I wanted the file size to come out to be 700 megs, but instead it was 647 megs. Any help is very appreciated.

if you had read the FAQ you would have seen the question on undersized files....

movie playing too fast is probably because of very low audio bitrate (downsampling)...

yes, i did use 64 kbit/s as the audio bitrate, the only reason why i
do this is to give the video a higher bitrate since audio doesnt matter at all to me, as long as i can hear it.

According to the HELP tab in Gknot:

i highly recommend to use
128 or 160 and nothing else. to avoid downsampling you have to add "--resample 48" to your lame commandline options if
you encode at low bitrates.

Did you add "-- resample 48" to your LAME command? You'd have done it in the "Audio 1" tab of the Encoding Control Panel.
