Please excuse me if this does not meet the criteria for the Advanced DVD Authoring forum topic, or if this info can be found elsewhere within the forum; but I'm wanting to author a disc (DVD) that has an intro which cannot be skipped. And while I know there is much disdain for such content found on commercial DVD's, (personally I do not like them myself) however I want to put a small personalized "stamp" at the beginning of the DVD I've made. I did try searching the forum already for instruction on how to achieve this, but was unable to turn up anything.
I know that I've read a tutorial (somewhere) regarding how this is done quite a few years ago. I know this because I did it before, but can't remember how to go about it since I haven't messed about with authoring DVD's in a long time. So if anyone could point me in the right direction it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, -tmt-

That, or you can use what are called PUOP's (Prohibited User Operations). I believe that PGCedit can manipulate these for you.

Hi!
PUOs can be turned off as easily as they are turned on - far easier to deal with than having to cut a piece of video from a DVD and make the necessary adjustments afterwards...

Provided the addition of the intro doesn't create a new cell before the movie ones (a cell that can be blanked out:)).
However, this would pose problems only to people that want just to cut out that intro while keeping the menus and the whole stuff intact, for me it plays no role as I'll keep only the movie (and since the intro and the movie are originally 2 different files, the movie will always start at I-Frame, so the cut can be easily done with any "stupid" MPEG-2 cutter - unless the whole file is processed before encoding and the encoder does not place an I-Frame at the junction (auto scene recognition ;)), but even then it can be cut with "smart" cutters).
PUO are good if the DVD will not be ripped and the player respects them.
