Is there a way to get your PC to boot straight into TV-out?
Also, what sort of cable would you need to connect the line out jack on your sound card to the RCA audio input jacks on your TV?

I use an old ATI Rage Fury 32 with SVIDEO out for my video. The card will autodetect if a TV is connected at bootup and enable it - which is nice. My nVidia cards do not do that. I have to manually switch to TV mode.
For audio I use a cable that goes from my sound card and splits into RCA left and right. The setup works nicely.

Try unplugging your monitor from the video card and just leave tv plugged in. Video card should then detect that your tv is the only device plugged and and auto boot to that device.
Well it works that way with both my sis 305 and tnt 2 ultra video cards.
