Any suggestions on how to capture a live webcast stream ?

I think it's in Flash/MP4.

How about recording this

For true streaming? Not http download?

Some "live webcasts" are not true rtsp/rtmp streaming

If true streaming, you can try screen recorder software or something similar e.g. replay video capture

If it's protected stream (rtmps), you may have difficulties

If it's real streaming and you don't mind the lack of a GUI, I'd recommend rtmpdump. You can even use it to download protected streams. All possible protection-related values (filesize of the swf file, SHA256 hash of the swf file, etc.) are passed to the program as command line options.

If you're dealing with a progressive download, rtmpdump won't work, but there are plenty of tools for saving progressive download files, while as far as I know, rtmpdump is the only program that can download protected RTMP streams.

That's an unprotected rtmp stream

The old Replay media capture works on it

I suspect Conquerist's suggestion would work too

"Fermi" specs have already been confirmed on review sites e.g. anandtech, not sure why you want to capture that?
