Could be implement in Gknot a auto-detection of interalced material? Maybe it could test some frames and search for interlaced artifacts. I don’t know how hard is this to code. And to push further more it can test some de-interlace filters (like verticalreduceby2 or others) to see which is the best ie it will test the before frame apply the filter and then test the after frame and compare them to see if they have any interlaced artifacts. Then suggest the filter… I don’t know if this is difficult or not but I will sure be a very nice feature, especially for the newbies…

I speak only for PAL movies cause I have no experience with NTSC movies…

I said that cause there are many newbies that rely at DVD2AVI ot Flask to see if the movie is interlace or not...Anyway
