My standalone player (Daewoo 2000K) only displays CVD-style subtitles. I have noticed the SVCDs build using submux and vcdxbuild have some problems when they are played on my standalone (some consecutive video frames are corrupted). This annomaly is unnoticed when the SVCD is played on a PC, but on my standalone player it occurs about two times per CD, on average. I guess that the problem lies on a bug of submux.
In order to avoid this drawback, I mux my video/audio streams with two subtitles strems using the Iauthor muxer with the "PS format" activated. After that I use vcdxbuild to generate the cue/bin image. This procedure yields SVCDs that play very well on my standalone player.
In order to automate the above procedure, I will be very grateful if you add to your program an option to use the Iauthor muxer (with the "PS format" on), instead of submux.
BTW: The Iauthor muxer produces mpegs that are a bit smaller than those obtained by submux, and it seems that it will be also useful to multiplex video and multichannel audio streams.
Sorry for my poor english.
Best regards,
