Its been a while since I posted here! Thanks for reading:

I know, title is terrible but I couldn't manage to get something better...! let me try to cover some possible questions about it:

Why so specific? Because I would like to find a solution for the software I know to use best. If there is none, then I will have to consider switching to another software.

I have a LOT of video files, all same codec, same resolution, same framerate. Lets say All seasons from an anime cartoon.

I have eight cores, dual opteron quad core, and I'm using 45% CPU power with a single Virtualdub Instance. Thats why I want to add a second instance to "multithread" work. I've been working for an hour almost, saving each episode into the Job List. I must state that I have considered the x264.stats file problem by renaming the Stats file for a HALF of the first pass jobs to x264_1.stats and x264_2.stats for the other half.

I copied the Vdub Directory, and then edited both joblists (from the two instances/directories) to strip a half from each other. This means, I have a virtualdub folder with a Joblist featuring pass1 and pass2 jobs for each episode from the first two seasons, configured with a "x264_1.stats" filename. Then a second virtualdub folder, with a Joblist featuring pass1 and pass2 jobs for the other 3rd and 4th seasons configured with a "x264_2.stats" filename.

You may have already guessed by now, that this didn't work. ALL the first pass encodes from both instances are outputing an x264_2.stats file completely ignoring my configuration.

I think, this means that the X264 configuration is not properly saved within the .vcf configuration scripts...

Any ideas? I already have 70 .avs files ready to be encoded.

Also, I tried MeGui a while back, and I didn't liked it. Workers messed things up with two pass encodings, and ALSO, the JOB input takes A LOT OF TIME, because every time I search for the correct .avs file it renders a preview which takes a while, and I must do this TWICE! once for the video and once for the audio.

What would you recommend me? Thanks a lot in advance!.

Go for the latter.

Sounds like you have some batch script in mind.

Your options:
1. Learn to script.
2. Post in the GUI subforum instead (if you don't know how to script, this thread should probably be over there).
3. StaxRip (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=102652) (supposedly has some kind of batch processing).
4. Use search and find related (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=148954) threads.
5. ?
