DVD-RB iPod-mode does audio conversion to AAC.
BD-RB Beta includes Audio Encoding Options.

Why not DVD-mode? Why not add Audio Encoding Options in DVD-RB (Pro)?

Especially to convert LPCM, PCM -> AC3
with choosable bitrates {160, 192, 224, 256, 320, 384,448, ..., 640} (see AftenGUI).

Would allow to cutdown LPCM 1536 kbps to selected AC3 bitrate and thus reserve more bitrate for the video.

How many discs would benefit from this? Most of the discs that would also come with an AC3 track anyway. Like music DVDs,

How many discs would benefit from this? Most of the discs that would also come with an AC3 track anyway. Like music DVDs,How many? I do not know! I didn't make a market survey.
Most DVDs? In PAL countries?

It's my tooth that aches and wants a remedy:
I and some of my friends have (music) DVDs without AC3 but with DTS and LPCM, which we would like to reduce to DVD5 from DVD9 keeping the menus, etc.

Would it be that difficult to implement?

And generally, why not add useful features in the process of product care and optimation.

I could give some more ideas for useful features:
* Use project_i.RBD as default extension for output folder "current_destination_path\project_i\" (for Batch projects). How many use Batch projects? Why have Batch processing anyway?

* Reserve nn MiB (deduct from standard size) to get spare disk space for other purposes. Some may use DVD-RB results as input for a next step in the workflow. How many?

* More options for standard taget sizes ( see multiAVCHD, Transcode, Bitrate suggestions), i.e.
1/2 DVD5, 1/2 DVD9, etc. Would enable new possibilities with DVD-RB. How many would use it?

But I am sure, there will not be much interest in product enhancements to make an excellent product even more productive. Sorry!

convert DTS to AC3 can be useful
