hello

i tested yesturday the Super encoder gui

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

i searched a easy way ton convert mkv h264 to mpeg2

but sins i tested that

i have some big probleme with my codec's on that computer

1st i notice that mpchc used powerdvd codec instead of coreavc
so i tryed to force coreavc in mpchc , but without succes mpchc just freeze , after that i notice that coreavc codec setting changed to a very old version of coreavc

after that i notic ethe same for ac3 filter (coul not use it anymore) version 1.46 was replace with 1.09a

i reinstalled the ac3 and coreavc, but i notice that when i reopen Super again, it corrupt my codec's again

i m very angry , on the website it s says :
" SUPER © does NOT require any additional external codec to
be installed, absolutely nothing. Necessary codecs are built in!"

but what it don't say that it replace the installed codec by old and corrup a lot of codec's

now i open megui and wan't to continue the encoding job's in queud, but it failed !

so i decide to uninstall that big sh*t of super
but it don't give me my old setting & codec back

i tryed to reopen a file with avisynth but i get error message :

avisynth script error directshowsource renderfile, the filter manager won't talk to me

i reinstalled olso ffdshow & yuvcodecs

but still don't work, where can the probleme come from ?

any ideas ?

ok i changed some codec & filters priority in directshow , finaly it work again

I have AviSynth v2.5.8 installed in C:\Archivos de programa\AviSynth 2.5
Each time I execute Super install a old AviSynth version in C:\Program files\AviSynth 2.5 and all my plugins in C:\Archivos de programa\AviSynth 2.5\plugins are ignored.

"Profanity and insults will not be tolerated", but maybe Super have a well-earned ones,

I had problems using super as well. For some reason it changed my registry for the avisynth plugins directory to "C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins" when it should really be "C:\Program Files (x86)\AviSynth 2.5\plugins" I have no idea why it does this but it is annoying enough to make me uninstall it.

Because author of this crap still lives in 32bit era.

Besides The way how his web site was designed tells me everything about this s**t. Download is hidden somewhere!?!
Have you read 'About Us' section'? What a joke!

I'll be honest here. SUPER makes me cry, never download it.

Thousands of users around the world have a totally different point of vue. Nothing pleases everybody.
Go and explain all these arguments detailed in here to 20 000 users installing it everyday...

Can NSIS prevent silent setups? I don't see how a silent AviSynth setup is a good idea.

Sure!

Function .onInit
IfSilent 0 NotSilent
MesageBox MB_ICONSTOP|MB_TOPMOST "Silent install is disabled for this installer!"
Quit
NotSilent:
FunctionEnd

Second that. SUPER has probably the most horrendous GUI I've ever seen in my life.

@LoRd_MuldeR

Thanks, I've asked to consider preventing silent installs:

You want horrific GUI? How about this one? The "encoder" bundled with my flash player which encodes to a supported format for it... wait for it... here it comes.... a little longer...... in MJPEG format, either in AVI or MTV container!!! :D

Appealing to the lowest common denominator doesn't suffice to prove the quality of a piece of software. We've seen, time and time again, that purpose-built open source and/or freeware tools are the most useful options for video encoding.
