Hey Guys,

I'm in the market for a videocard for one of my computers and was wondering whether to swap out the video card in my main machine or not.

Does anyone know whether a faster video card will give me faster encoding when using the NV versions?

Currently i have a i7 920@3050 with a 9500gt which is encoding at around 5 - 6 frames a second using sharktooths extra quality preset. There is pretty much no difference in speed for me if i use the NV versions over to the cpu version.

I was looking at getting the gtx275. However it is $300 compared to about $70 for another 9500gt and i don't really wanna spend the extra money if im not going to see any difference.

Thanks for your help.

You should post your X264 commandline and avs script. I get around 50-60 fps on my 9500 GT card in 1 pass, using only 2 lines in my avs script... See the point in posting your scripts/commandline.

NV tools has the biggest impact on 1 pass where the settings are 'low', on the second pass its all about cpu power.
