Hello Friends!

I have a few videos in both DIVX & XVID format that contains 29.9 FPS. When I try to compress it further and choose a frame rate of 23.37 FPS in advanced setting, on completion I marked that the frame rate is still 29.9 and didnt change to 23.3. Why is this happening and how can I change the frame rate.

Thank you.

With no explanation of how you attempted to alter the frame rate, no one can be of any help in determining why it failed.

You will likely end up with a mess attempting to do what you want. You should instead re-encode from the source material properly, and only if it's possible to properly pull down from 29.97 to 23.976 fps.

Why did you create a video at 29.97 fps if it should have been 23.976 to begin with?

Well, actually I got the video from one of my friend and is I GB in size. I wanted to make it 700 MB so that it can fit a CD. So I thought of changing the FPS also so that I can if there are lesser frames in total, I will have to loose less quality.

Anyways, to change the frame rate, I went to advanced setting in Auto GK by pressing Ctrl+F9 and choosed 23.976 FPS under frame rate. I guess thats how we are supposed to change the frame rate, right?

So, am I following a wrong procedure or do I need to do some thing else.

Hi,

AGK works "auto" if you use it auto => choose "autowidth" in the advanced settings. Messing with fps will produce... unexpected results.

If you don't have access to the source you won't have help here; see rule 6:
