View Full Version : Video plays too fast when adding 2 audio-streams

I am trying to add 2 audiostreams to a divx-avi in Nandub. The first stream is a VBR at ~140 kbps, 48 khz. The second stream is CBR 24kbps 16khz. When I try to play the avi with the first stream it plays fine, but when I use morgan streamswitcher to switch to the second stream the audio starts playing too fast and sounds distorted. The video also plays too fast and you can see that the seconds are ticking away way too fast.

Does anyone know how to solve the problem? I also tried avi-mux but it just wrote a file that is 450KB.

I think that it's impossible to mux correctly

Two audiostreams with different sampling rates (like in your case 48 khz and 16 khz), different bitrates yes but not different sampling rates

And even with the same sampling rate, i'm not sure at all it's possible to mux a CBR and a VBR (but i didn't try)

I'll try to make the second stream VBR too. The only problem is that Nandub doesn't seem to support Mpeg 2 Layer 3 VBR files, so I must make the second track at least 32kbps.

Hi, I'm absolutely no DVD-ripping/encoding expert whatsoever, but Nandub.exe from the GordianKnot installation handles VBR MP3s quite well. Never had problems with any dual audio AVI I've created (VBR both tracks).

However, I'd resample your two MP3 files to 44.1 Hz (parameter '--resample 44.1' in LAME).
