I am running into an issue with some divx movies I have made with gordian. An example of what is happening is this:
I ripped the VOB files from 'THE MATRIX' DvD with dvd decrypter, then ran it through gordian. After opening and watching the video to check for accuracy and quality, the beginning runs fine. The scene where the cops break in the door to arrest trinity (about 3 minutes or so into the movie) is where it starts looping. Trinity runs on the wall and the cop shoots at her, then it loops right back to her running on the wall again and to the cop shooting. Does this loop 3 times, then continues further into the scene about 5 seconds and again, does a loop. So I get to watch each 5 seconds or so of each part of a scene 3 times before it moves on. The same thing happened when I tried doing Unbreakable with bruce willis. Is this a protection type of thing? and do I need to rip the vob files with a program other than dvd decrypter?

Hi!

If I remember correctly, they are both multi-angle DVDs - and have to be ripped as such, selecting one angle...

DVD Decrypter should handle both those disks fine, but you need to rip in IFO mode, selecting Angle 1. File mode, even with main movie only selected, will still rip all angles and combine them in one file. It is not a copy protection.

I am not familiar with angles on a dvd, so if someone could explain the steps on setting up the dvd decrypter to rip all the angles. So far, all I do is select the vob files that I recognize to be the movie itself, and rip them to my hard drive. Does dvd decrypter have settings I dont know about? I'm still kinda new at this, so any help is appreciated. Perhaps a guide somewhere online?

That's what you're already doing, which is causing your problems. As I said, you'll need to rip in IFO mode which will select ONLY ONE angle.

In DVD Decrypter, in Tools -> Settings -> IFO tab, in the File Names section, tick the two 'Include ...' boxes.

That will affect nothing in the ripping process or the angle selection. It will only affect the naming of the ripped files.

In what way?

My advice was based on an old version of the AutoGKnot User Guide which included information on how to set up DvdDecrypter.

Pretty much as expected based on the description. When I rip an episodic disk, I get VTS_01_1.VOB as the filename for the first PGC ripped, then I have to manually rename files for each successive rip. If "Include PCG number is checked," the file has the name of VTS_01_PGC_01_1.VOB. When ripping a multi-angle disk in IFO mode, the filename would be (for example) VTS_01_ANGLE_1_1.VOB.
