Hi!
I just downloaded Gordian Knot with DVD2AVI, SmartRipper etc.
I followed the instructions but when I want to open the d2v File created with DVD2AVI in GKnot the following error occurs:
"File is not a valid DVD2AVI Project (v.1.76, YUV2)"
But I used that Version and checked "YUV" in the "Color Space" menu.
What did I wrong?

You haven't moved/renamed anything (vobs and d2v and anything at all)after it was created?
Just re-make the d2v and all must be ok!

Try to open the d2v with TMPGEnc or any other program that supports VFAPI. If it opens ok, then you'll know that it has nothing to do with the d2v but with mpeg2dec.dll or GordianKnot. If it doesn't, then something's wrong with your DVD2AVI.

Note he mispelled "mpeg2dec.dll." That's the file you need.

I think that this file is include in Gordian Knot0.21 installation pack.
try re-opening the d2v in dvd2avi v1.76 or 1.86 and close it don make anything and try to open again in gordian...

Hehe, finally got it (by coincedence) why the error  "File is not a valid dvd2avi project" occurs sometimes in Gknot.
In my case, this was because the directory where the .d2v file was located had a long name.
When I made the directory name shorter .... it worked out all fine :-)
Hope this will help other people out as well - if they haven't figured it out yet -
(BTW: if you have a d2v that isnt working, load it in a texeditor & make sure it says FINISHED at the end of the file. if it doesn't that means it didn't quite finish the file before you closed down D2A (just because D2A says (& beeps) that its finished, doesnt mean it always is)

I got an other prob with that mpeg2.dll. I opened my own topic but nobody replies. So I'll try it here. I downloaded a svcd and want to ad subt. with winsubmux. IBut o preview the movie and subt. I made a d2v file with DVD2AVI. So I did everything the instruction told, but when I opened the .d2v file in winsubmux I got this error:access violation at address 1001E5A5 in module in MPEG2DEC.dll(which I put in the winsubmux folder and the movie folder) write of address 00000001". So does anybody have any idea what went wrong?
I used DVD2AVI 1.76 and Winsubmux 0.2.0.2.
And I just tried re-opening it in DVD2AVI but there was no problem so it can't be the .d2v file.

i get the same dvd2avi error.this is on a new install of xp.normally i just copy the whole gnot folder but not this time:(
i have tried different versions of dvd2avi but then found tmpg opens the d2v fine, tried installing/uninstalling/changing avisynth and mpeg2dec,rearranging my drive letters so they are relative(CDEFGHIJ)as someone else suggested with no luck.tried moving gnot somewhere else, even tried installing it in winme(dualboot)then running it with winxp....no damn luck:devil:
about to try doing a different dvd from scratch(this one is the first on a new install).then try deleting gnot and going through the reg with a fine tooth comb and deleting anything starting with G:D
