View Full Version : Is there a Vdub capture plugin available for web streams?

Im not sure if but vdub seems to be a pretty good tool...but can i capture streaming video with it?? im not sure if you can...but if you can i cant dig up help on it. I would like to capture some webcams sessions i have or streamed movies/clips off the net and encode them into divx or whatever???can vdub do this for me???

No, Vdub cannot capture streaming video. However, you can use a screen capturing progie (bad quality - lot's of dropped frame), or do a search for StreamboxVCR or ASFrecorder in Google.

yeh i use streambox vcr now...works pretty good..but i know vdub would work better...alot better..i wonder why that support has not been applied yet

yeh i used one of them frame capture progies once...it was pretty bad... "lot's" is a understatement on thatt

Well screen capture depends heavily on your CPU, RAM and cap settings... a new, un-partitioned, un-fragmented drive would be helpful too.

Capturing streaming videos will never be implemented into VirtualDub because it's illegal.
