Hi everyone,
I was recording some EPIC footage with my Flip Mino HD camera, and the camera freaked out and quit recording. I used some file recovery tools and was able to recover what data it had recorded, but of course the file's moov structure is incomplete since recording was terminated prematurely.
I have used the Treasured tool on mac, and with a valid recording from the same camera I can get some screengrabs from the movie that I want to recover so I know the data's there, but the makers of Treasured want me to pay them $150 for them to fix the file by hand.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can recover this file myself?
I understand the basics of video encoding and can use a hex editor, but my knowledge of moov atoms and structures is limited. Maybe I could figure out some way to delete the last (incomplete) group of pictures and artificially close out the moov structure by hand with a hex editor or something?
The Flip generates H.264 files in an .mp4 wrapper.
Thanks!
