I create a live video graph from a DV source (in this instance a Canopus ADVC100 or ADVC300 box).
The source stream is split with one half being decoded for use as a preview whilst the other is streamed to an AVI file. For years this has been reliable.
Now, by chance, I enabled the DV setting in FFDShow, so the preview stream now used Ffdshow instead of the default DV decoder. Suddenly the graph no longer works i.e the preview window is black and I suspect the source stalls too.
Knocking up a preview-only graph in graph studio showed that the problem presisted.
Playback of existing DV-encoded AVIs through Ffdshow works just fine, the only thing I can think of is that the live source is presumably a "push" source and the file playback is a "pull" source ?
TTFN,
Jon
