I am not sure this is the correct forum for these questions, but perhaps someone can help me anyway(?)...
I have a small issue... I have lots of HD clips I've created with my Canon HF200 HD-camera. I wanted to edit those in Premiere Elements 7, but with maximum quality in the output file (=blu-ray).
The problem is, Premiere 7 doesn't support "smart encoding", like "Nero Vision" does (which means, only recode the parts that has been changed).
Anyway, I might have to live with the re-encoding thing. However I wanted to create the BDMV-menus with Nero Vision but Nero Vision doesn't support smart encoding on the files that Premiere Elements 7 creates, so it still have to reencode everything *again* (which means another quality loss).
I've tried Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 instead of Premiere Elements and it even can create a BDMV ISO structure if I want to skip Nero vision for creating my menu, but for some reason it limits the bitrate to about 14Mbps, which is alot lower than the BDMV limitation (if I am not mistaken). And I can't find a way of adjusting the bitrate of the clips when I use the "create disc" option.
So I am a bit annoyed here.. No matter how I try, I seem to constantly need to recode the files before burning them.
Can anyone recommend any other video-editing programs that have better support for BDMV/AVCD videos and smart encoding perhaps?
