View Full Version : Audio streams in VLC

I use VLC to see most clips I have (except for .RM, which are played by SMplayer). However, when a clip (or VOB) has more than one audio track, the numbering is not that of IFO.
Has anyone any idea how renumbers VLC the audio streams?

If you're playing an individual .VOB and not a full DVD ("AS DVD"), all players that I know of, that are capable of playing multiple audiostreams, will simply play the first PHYSICALLY LOCATED audiostream as "1", the second as "2", etc...

I also thought that, but this doesn't help me to identify the link between a spoken language and its corresponding track. At least not on this computer where I cannot install anything that requires ADMIN rights. The only solution is to test each track separately then to play it in VLC.

No, but neither was that your original question.
It's the same question actually, since the IFO audio streams are for instance 0x80, 0x81, 0x82 etc. (let's take DD) while in VLC their ids are 1, 2, 3 (first, second etc. audio track). And I noticed 0x80 is not always 1, sometimes is the reverse (0x83 is 1, 0x82 is 2 and so on), it's all mixed up.
