Smartripper 2.41 now adds a dv2 file automatically but when using DVD2AVI to create a d2v file the file sizes are different. Which is the better one to use? TIA

Posted in the wrong forum. Should have posted this in the ripper section.

Short answer is to stick with DVD2AVI's file for now as SR's has issues with NTSC disc.

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum. I was more concerned about the d2v file than the ripping process. Thanks for the reply.

I use it with PAL DvD's and it works fine.
Good to know thow if it doesn't work well with NTSC.

then your problem lies elsewhere.. either you don't have dvd2avi.vfp in your dvd2avi directory or vfapi isn't properly installed. and I hope you're not trying to open a .d2v in nandub.. that would of course never work

i converted the d2v to an avi with vfapi

one day before everything was fine, i reinstalled the vfapi again and again, but nandub can't open it

dunno why, really weird, maybe i try gknot instead

Maybe you don't have the correct version of DVD2AVI.
Why you don't use avisynth instead of vfapi ?
